Last weekend, the SOFK9s had a play date that included throwing instruction from club President, Matt Bilderback. It was too good to keep it to ourselves, so here are some recordings from that play date.
First, here is a short introduction to freestyle throws in general.
Now, here is the portion about the Forehand grip. The Forehand is also sometimes called a Flick or a Sidearm. As Matt explains in the video, the Forehand is a good throw to use in a passing sequence with a Backhand. Switching between the two allows you to throw in opposite directions without twisting your body around. Not only is it practical, but will also give your freestyle routine some diversity, and we know judges like that!
